The term "micro" injection moulding covers two quite different processes, each of them making different demands on the equipment, process parameters and the raw materials.

IPU moulds very small items (less than 1 g) as well as larger items with features in micrometre or nanometre range (e.g. optical or micro fluidic components).

Both types of micro injection moulding require a well-defined and durable tool.
