Integrated modelling

Today it is possible to simulate a number of production processes; e.g. casting, welding, heat treatment and sheet amnd bulk metal forming using numeric programs with the aim of optimising the process. This allows for partial optimisation of the individual processes.

Moreover, the stages of use for most items are also analysed using structural modelling (CAE) in order to secure adequate strength. Because this form of simulation does not include stress analysis, the result is often an amply dimensioned product.

A new trend in material and process research is to combine multiple computation methods, thereby e.g. integrating the process analysis in a load analysis, which allows for simultaneous optimisation of the process and performance characteristics of the component.

By applying competences from all phases of production, IPU-Production is able to perform integrated modelling of the product, where the materials, processes and stages of use are all taken into account.
