IPU–Production develops and designs process and production machinery with high levels of technological content, based on cutting-edge knowledge in the field of process and materials technology – and tailored to customer needs.

We have wide experience in translating production process research and development into effective, industrial production equipment for metal, plastic and concrete processing, as well as handling and assembling of components and products.

IPU–Production has developed special turning lathes for DNP Denmark A/S to be used in the production of casting moulds for manufacturing Fresnel lenses and linear lenses for giant screens.

The combination of small dimensions of lense segments and large item dimensions places great demands on temperature stability and rigidity and therefore also on the precision of the turning lathe.

For instance, the processing time for large Fresnel tools with a small pitch is 72-96 hours in a continuous sequence. A large linear tool with a small pitch can be made in approx. 48 hours.

The Fresnel turning lathe has the capability to process casting tools of up to 3.2 meters in diameter, and the linear turning lathe can process tools up to Ø1.2 x 5 meters. Both operate with a reproducibility of approx. 1 µm.
