IPU offers consultancy, development and optimisation assistance in food safety, process hygiene, preservation, packaging and food and bio technology in general. Emphasis is on interaction between food, micro-organism and surroundings, e.g. packaging materials, surfaces and tools. Cleaning and disinfection. Sensor technology including electronic nose. Experimental designs and multivariate data analyses are used extensively.

The focus area have for long time been on food and industrial relevant fungi, were we have expertise in identifying, handling and controlling the growth of both food and industrial relevant fungi and fungi related to indoor climate.

We also offers detection and analysis of fungal metabolites and mycotoxins in most matrices.

We offer general microbiological analysis of all surfaces. Our speciality is quantitative and qualitative microbial analysis of non transparent surfaces, correlation between surface modification, surface structure, clean-ability and adherence of microorganisms. We hold ests facilities for analysis of a wide range of microorganisms on non transparent surfaces.
