ANALYSES OF MICROBIAL BIOFILM
IPU Bio and Food Technology offers quantitative and qualitative microbial analyses of the susceptibility of industrial surfaces to microbial adherence, growth and biofilm formation. IPU Bio and Food Technology has a lot of experience with moulds and has through a new Industrial PhD project together with the bacteriologists at DTU Systems Biology expanded our competences to now include analyses of all types of surfaces to detect moulds, yeast and bacteria. Dependent on the assignment we use
- qualitative methods, like the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Groups, guidelines for test of surfaces
- traditional microbial methods e.g. in combination with identification of the isolated microorganisms
- impedance microbiological determination of microbial activity on surfaces dependent on cleaning and disinfection treatment
- Confocal laser scanning microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.
IPU continues to enhance its competences within the area of industrial hygiene and works to offer optimal plans for taking samples for assessment of the cleaning-friendliness and susceptibility to microbial biofilm of industrial surfaces.
This expertise is central to the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation project "Antimicrobial aluminum surfaces (AMAS)" and the Industrial PhD project "Qualitative and quantitative microbiological analysis of non-transparent surfaces".
