IPU performs hand and computer renderings. Renderings constitute an important tool in the communication between the development team and other stakeholders.  

Some companies use renderings in the development process to obtain managerial, sales or user input. At this point, the product often only exists on paper or in the computer (see Vapochill). Photorealistic renderings are also used in preliminary sales material and pamphlets, where photographic material otherwise cannot the obtained.

Some companies turn to IPU solely for renderings of products, that they have developed themselves, and which IPU has not participated in creating.
