Structured approach
The purpose of the course is to enable the participants to use structured approaches in their development work. We train the ability to structure the development work by identifying and focusing on important aspects of a specific project. Also, several techniques are presented, which can be included in the development work:
- Deconstruction of problems
- Allocation approaches
- Techniques for developing ideas and structuring solutions
- Obtainment of specifications and use of appraisal techniques
- Focus on cost reduction, customer-perceived quality, Design for Manufacture, etc.
- Use of experiences from prior projects and from colleagues
It is an advantage if participants have practical experience in project planning, including working with project plans.
The course is intended for design engineers and development professionals who are in charge of development projects/activities, or who wish to work on structuring the development work. The course is suitable for a number of industries.
The duration of the course is usually three to five days.
The course is partly theoretical, and a compendium is used. Also, a number of exercises are performed in groups.
The course is a standard course, which can be adapted to the individual company.
