»JAI wanted to develop a series of modular camera housing based on the same external design. The design had to allow for incorporation of several types of camera and a serie of associated lens systems. All versions had to be weatherproff in accordance with the IP65 standard.

We handed the development task, and the task of producing prototypes with the associated documentation, over to IPU. In the course of the project, work on cost reduction has resulted in several proposals, some of which were incorporated in the prototypes and some of which we will be able to incorporate into the next generation of camera housings.

The result is a series of products which permit the creation of variants at a late stage in the course of production. The cameras which are used can be tested before they are built in, and all external parts and accessories are identical for the different models.«
