In interaction with Price Invena ApS, IPU has worked on development of a new generation of a medical device.

IPU is by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation an approved R&D institution, and we may therefore in collaboration with companies and upon acceptance carry out projects based on financial support through the scheme "videnkuponer".

The purpose of this project is to develop a second-generation product concept of the ClampCut SCC23 product. ClampCut SCC23 is a combined umbilical cord cutter and clamp fitter. The development work should have special focus on operating safety and production characteristics.

Experience from existing production and market conditions on the primary markets are gathered in a set of specifications that are used as Design Input in the following phase. On the basis of these specifications a number of product concepts are made, which address requirements and characteristics.

The new ClampCut product is expected to possess several advantages compared to SSC23: Increased safety to prevent faulty operation, new functionality for correct functioning during handling and perceived value, reduction of cost price through optimization for mass production and reduction/elimination of problems with counterfeit products especially on Far East markets.
