»On the basis of international development cooperation Danfoss wanted to develop a sensor for measuring the content of nutritive salt in waste water during and after treatment.

Danfoss chose IPU to head the technical management during the development phase, whereas project marketing management lay with Danfoss. In a project with up to twenty participants from several countries with great variation in technical knowledge it was a great strenght to be two persons in charge of project management. IPU also participated in the development and design of the sensor. IPU has contributed to several fundamental patents in the course of the project.

The Evita^® Nutrientmeter was the result of the development work. The sensor has made control of the cleaning processes possible, allowing cleaning to be done with lower energy and chemical consumption and at the same time making an increase in capacity compared to traditional waste water plants possible. The latter is of great importance to plant investments. This sensor may contribute to reducing the environmental loads of our society - and this for the benefit of us all!«
