We are pleased to announce the release of Pack Calculation Pro v5.0 that introduces modern refrigerants.
IPU are accelerating efforts and investments in the Pack Calculation Pro software. The new version is the first one of a series of major updates to modernize the software in terms of functionality and user experience. Read more about the implemented changes below.
All active licenses are entitled for an upgrade to the latest version, no additional payment or subscription renewal is required.
Updated refrigerants, components and cycles
Pack Calculation Pro now contains fluid property data for R32, R448A, R449A, R450A, R513A, R1234yf and R1234ze(E). The new refrigerants are available for a limited selection of compressors, but we are working on extending the list over the next weeks. Furthermore, we also included R1233zd(E), but we are still waiting to receive compressor performance data for this refrigerant.
The first units from the Bitzer Orbit/+/FIT series are now included. We are working on getting all of them to work and on enabling the economizer feature in the near future.
The operational envelopes for the Bock HGX CO2 transcritical units have also been updated and are now in line with the official documentation.
CO2 parallel compression
It is now possible to simultaneously operate the parallel compression pack and the flash gas bypass. This should allow for more realistic year-round operation of CO2 systems. The user manual has been updated and section 4.2 explains the details about this.
Automatic update check
To keep track of the ongoing development, we included an automatic update check in the software. We do not store any of your information, the software only notifies you if an updated version of Pack Calculation Pro is available. Don’t miss out on the new features!
License model changed
To sustain momentum and funding for the future releases of Pack Calculation, we have changed the license model. Pack Calculation Pro now comes with four different license types: demo, personal, education and professional. You can read more about the different options on our homepage.
